To All Clubs,
The Leinster Intermediate and Masters Cross Country Championships take place in Dunboyne on Sunday 15th January. Closing date for entries is Monday 9th January. Online entry will be available through the Athletics Ireland website. For athletes to come up on the
online entry system immediately their registration fees will have to be paid by credit card as with a cheque there will be delays due to postage etc.
Meath will have teams in both ladies and men’s Intermediate (have to be at least 20yrs of age in 2017) and masters (both O/35 and O/50) races. Email me with your club athletes who are willing to take part by Saturday evening and we will select the Meath team otherwise I will enter blank Meath teams and the first 4 finishers in the case of ladies intermediate and men’s master O/35 & O/50; the 1st 3 for ladies Masters both O/35 & O/50 and finally the 1st 6 intermediate men will be the county teams respectively.
The All Ireland Intermediate Cross Country Championships take place in the Palace Grounds, Tuam on Sunday 22nd January with online entry closing on the 13th January. Again I need to know if we have athletes interested in travelling. The All Ireland inter club cross country relays (2016 ages applying) which replace the Inter County relays take place on the 22nd as well – given that the closing date for it is before the Leinster Inter Club cross country relays then I presume that clubs can entry directly (no qualification needed).
Finally the All-Ireland masters and juvenile B cross country takes place in Waterford IT College on February 12th with entries closing on 3rd February. The age groups for the B’s are U11, 13, 15 & 17 with 2016 ages applying. The Leinster juvenile indoors are also on that weekend so in the case of the Juvenile B’s I need to know who are definitely travelling to Waterford and only then will the county enter teams. In the event of a club having 6 athletes going to the B’s then the county will enter that team as the county team.
